The Back Rhodes Standard

The checklist every site we build goes through before launch: accessibility, photos and claims, privacy, ownership, and security. We publish it so you can hold us to it.

The Back Rhodes mark: an outline of Arkansas with a road through it

Built for the owner who would get the letter.

When a small business website draws a demand letter, over a copied photo, a menu a blind customer cannot use, or a tracking tag on a booking page, it goes to the owner. Most owners never knew the risk was there.

So we researched the laws and lawsuits that reach small business sites in Arkansas: accessibility, privacy and tracking, copyright, and advertising claims. Then we checked every site we have built against what we found, and wrote the rules down.

This is research we did for our own work, not legal advice. Your attorney is still your attorney.

The Checklist, Every Site

Each item is something we can test and show you, not a promise on a sales page.

01

Accessibility

  • Built to WCAG 2.2 AA, the current web accessibility standard, with any exception named in plain words
  • Zero automated violations at desktop and phone widths
  • A keyboard pass and a screen reader pass by a person
  • Readable contrast, and links you can spot without color
  • Video and motion turn still for visitors who switch motion off
  • Captions on any video with speech
  • An accessibility page and a dated test log
  • No accessibility widgets or overlays
02

Photos, words, and claims

  • Every photo, video, and music track has a license on file
  • Permission from every person you can recognize
  • No text, images, icons, or code copied from another site
  • Every fact on the site has a source, or it comes off
  • Real reviews, quoted exactly, never filtered by stars
  • No “best,” “#1,” or “licensed and insured” unless it is true and on file
03

Privacy and tracking

  • No ad pixel, session recorder, or chat widget unless you decide in writing
  • Clinics: no Meta Pixel, and no analytics on booking or contact pages
  • No ad pixel on pages that play video
  • Forms ask for the least they need: no birth dates, no medical details
  • A privacy page written from what the site actually loads
  • A consent box before any lead gets a text message
04

Ownership and security

  • Domain, hosting, Google, and Meta accounts in your name
  • We work by invitation with two-factor on, never a shared password
  • We never hold a domain over a bill
  • No passwords or secret keys in the site’s code
  • Private project files blocked on the live site
  • A written how-to, so you are never stuck

Words You Won’t See On Your Site

“ADA compliant”

No one certifies a website as ADA compliant. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and hand you the test results instead.

“Guaranteed #1”

Google decides rankings. We commit to the monthly work and show you exactly what was done.

“Best in town”

Only claims you can back up. Some Arkansas licensing boards, eye doctors’ for one, bar “better than” claims outright.

“Found it on Google”

A photo in search results is not a license. Your photos, or licensed ones, with the paperwork kept.

We Hold Our Own Site to the Same List

This site gets the same checks. The text meets the contrast rules, the home page video turns still for visitors who switch motion off, and no page carries an ad pixel, analytics tag, or tracker.

Our accessibility statement lists the last test date, what passed, our one known exception, and what is still open.

Accessibility statement
  • Tested with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Checked at desktop and phone widths
  • Our one exception named on the statement
  • Still image for visitors who turn motion off
  • No ad pixels, analytics, or trackers
  • Fonts under a free commercial license
